These wines are produced from the sites that are not designated as Grosse Lagen in the Prussian classification map (or by the VDP), but have the slate soils that are characteristic of the Mosel. The idea here is to produce Rieslings that reflect the terroir of our growing region.
**In the Mosel wine region, the VDP. Regional Association waives the classification level VDP.ERSTE LAGE.
This wine is produced from sites with characteristic blue slate soil. Our "Blue Slate" is always vinified dry and bottled as an estate Riesling, without a site name. The idea behind this wine is to produce a Riesling that very clearly shows the terroir of our growing area.

Grape variety: Riesling
Origin: Mosel
Soil: Blue slate

Red slate is quite unique on the Mosel. The wines have a softer, rounder structure than those grown on blue slate. Their aromas are often reminiscent of red fruits, sometimes even strawberries. Our Red Slate Riesling impressively captures the allure of this terroir.

This is the "off-dry" option in our series of terroir-focused Rieslings. With its natural lightness, fine fruit sweetness and a playful acidity, this wine is reminiscent of the typical Mosel wine of the 1950s and ‘60s.

Grape variety: Riesling
Origin: Mosel
Floor: Slate
Taste: Off-dry
A dry Riesling with moderate alcohol (10 to 11%), highly elegant, with a fine raciness and ravishing aromas of white peach. Satyricus tastes like a throw-back to the era before global warming. It is a traditionally made, retro wine in the best sense, capturing what dry Riesling might have tasted like 100 years ago. The name recalls the companions of Dionysus, who were fiercely devoted to drinking.

This fine, mineral Pinot Blanc is the beloved cuckoo in the Riesling-focused Dr. Loosen family (it found its way in, but doesn’t really fit). Fruity and easy to drink, with gently animating acidity and the typical minerality of our slate sites in the Middle Mosel.
