GRAACHER-HIMMELREICH

This steep, southwest-facing slope is situated next to the more famous Wehlener Sonnenuhr. It has a particularly deep blue slate soil that combines Bernkastel's power with Wehlen's elegance. The wines are quite forceful when young, showing their true greatness after some years of maturation in the cellar.

The dark, multicolored slate in Bernkastel and Graach produces wines with a distinctive aroma of lemon, herbs and stone fruits, and a crisp mineral structure.
