GRAACHER-DOMPROBST

Facing south-southwest, very steep and well protected from wind and frost by the topography, the Domprobst is the centerpiece among the Graacher sites. The wines are rich in extract and structured, characterized by Devonian slate soils with herbaceous-earthy tones, as we already know from the surrounding Graacher Himmelreich.

Devonian slate shows a wide variety of colors in the Mosel Valley, depending on its specific mineral composition. The dark, multicolored slate in Bernkastel and Graach gets its color from iron inclusions in the slate and produces wines with a distinct aroma of lemon, herbs and stone fruits as well as a crisp mineral structure.
