Oregon Harvest is Coming at J. Christopher

Looks like harvest is shaping up nicely at J. Christopher, our joint venture with Winemaker Jay Somers in Newberg, Oregon. Enjoy these pics from the vineyards.

Veraison-August 2014
Taken in August 2014, this shows the onset of color (French term is “veraison”) in Pinot clusters in the Three Angels vineyard, one of our sources in the Eola-Amity Hills appellation.

Ripe Pinot - Clusters in our own Appassionata vineyard that are very nearly ripe. It's been another hot, dry summer, so the fruit is ripening well and the harvest could begin as early as Sept. 15.

Hanging Fruit-Sept 2014
Also from the Appassionata vineyard, you can see that there is an abundant crop hanging on the vines. And this is after we went through to reduce the crop load to ensure that the remaining fruit gets fully ripe.
